Penny's Baby

Our dog will play with ONE toy. ONE. We try to diversify, but she isn't for it. On the last toy run, we decided to try a tennis ball ish thing. She may like it, we can throw and tug, maybe?

LITTLE did we know. The dog that insists you play tug toy with her for hours and hours and hours.

THINKS THIS TOY IS HER BABY!! She is frantic when she cannot find it, she isn't pleased if you throw it, she tries to take it outside when she goes out, she sleeps with it in her bed, she puts it in her mouth, but does not bite down. She has to check on it if they are in different rooms. She brings it to us to see, and will let us take it.. As long as we give it back within about 30 secs. Now she won't even play tug toy when her baby is in the room. Bad example as a mom?

It doesn't even look like anything but a tennis ball donut?! It is not alive! Someone explain dog psychology to me please.
