This Week's Estate Sale Finds

I do so love estate sales. The thrill of the hunt. The voyeurism of looking into other people's lives. The research of each item purchased. Buying interesting one of a kind items. And of course the bargains.

Cleveland Monopoly Game
Just for fun. Just for $3.

Wood Box

A beautiful box with wood inlay. Chip's grandmother had a similar box, so we scooped it up for personal reasons. Cost $6.00

Bronze Flatware Set in Teak Box - Service for 12 (minus a few spoons)

According to Mr. Google.
"Bronze tableware has been made in Bangkok for many years. It became popular in the United States after American GIs brought it back after the war ended in 1945. The name of the country was changed from Siam to Thailand in 1949. The company that made your flatware is still in business in Bangkok and is now called Siam Bronze and Thai Products Co."

HOW cool is bronze flatware? A little different than your normal silver.

Set of Vintage Children's Books. "My Book House"

We purchased these books because of the illustrations. Plus they look nice on a crisp white bookshelf. I hopped on the Internet for some research. Only to discover, these are a rare printing, who knew?! Priced on the Internet at $590.00. Our cost $30! We are not selling them. I like them a lot.

Whoa! Good find! You are so close to being on antiques roadshow, which is a dream of mine. Where do you find these estate sales? I might have to try and convince the hubby to take me to one some weekend.
